Meet your mentee, Andrew.
Andrew describes himself as intelligent, respectful, and trustworthy. He grew up in Manhattan, speaks Spanish at home, and loves being part of communities where he can connect with others. His favorite subject is math because he understands new topics quickly and enjoys his teacher’s approach. He also likes science and learning about the world. At school, he is involved in Anime Club, Board Games Club, and Dungeons & Dragons Club, which help him meet new people and feel a sense of belonging. Outside the classroom, he enjoys going to the park, riding his bike, cooking with his mom, and playing games like Tetris. He is in the Information Technology pathway and hopes to work in the tech industry while continuing to expand his education.
There are many natural connections between you and Andrew. You both enjoy exploring new places, watching different shows, and building relationships through open conversation. Andrew is calm, curious, and hands-on, which aligns well with your creativity, comfort with emotions, and thoughtful approach to mentoring. He is looking for a mentor who is respectful, trustworthy, and steady—qualities that reflect how you show up for young people. He joined GCSA to strengthen his work ethic, plan for his future, and receive guidance as he prepares for college, and your experience supporting students will be especially meaningful to him.
