Our Programs

GCSA programming is designed to ensure our students graduate high school on-time, and enroll and succeed in postsecondary education.

Mentorship program

The GCSA Mentoring Program helps public school students in New York City access and succeed in postsecondary education. From 10th through 12th grade, they meet weekly with a cohort of 15 to 20 peers from their school, alternating between one-on-one sessions with a dedicated volunteer mentor and group workshops led by our staff. Our curriculum spans self-reflection, career exploration, college applications, paying for college, and selecting a postsecondary opportunity.

scholarship program

Upon graduating, all GCSA seniors are awarded a $4,000 scholarship over four years for their education. They complete quarterly advising sessions with staff to promote persistence on their educational journeys, and are welcomed back to bi-annual celebrations, sustaining the community of support they built in high school.
