Meet your mentee, Angelita.

Angelita describes herself as kind, caring, and creative. She grew up in Manhattan, speaks Spanish at home, and is the first in her family to go through the college process. She loves art because it allows her to be creative and work with a kind teacher, and she enjoys math because she likes learning through challenge and talking with her classmates. She is involved in the Restorative Justice internship—where she collaborates with peers, creates lessons, and talks about school issues—and in the newspaper club, which has helped her stay organized, meet new people, and learn to ask for help. Outside of school, she enjoys debating, drawing, going on trips, and imagining her future. She is interested in business (especially food), wants a job with financial stability and flexibility, and is also curious about software engineering. She values trust and hopes for a mentor who can guide her through experiences her parents haven’t gone through.

There are many natural connections between you and Angelita. You both enjoy building relationships, problem-solving, and thinking ahead about the future. Angelita’s interest in business and organized planning connects well with your strengths in being solution-oriented. Your shared love of exploring new places is another point of connection. Most importantly, both of you care deeply about supporting others with honesty, care, and meaningful connection.
