Meet your mentor, Casey.
Casey has spent almost two decades working in NYC schools, including 10 years as a science teacher. She attended Cornell University, where she studied Biology and Nutrition. She is deeply committed to education and helping students find opportunities that feel meaningful. Outside of work, Casey is extremely active—she loves sports, plays competitive football, works out regularly, and never turns down good food, especially pizza and Italian spots. She’s originally from Pittsburgh and is a huge Steelers fan, but NYC has been her home for many years.
You and Casey connect through your shared curiosity, hands-on mindset, and the way you both build relationships easily. You’re talkative, friendly, and talented at designing, building, and working with your hands—skills that support your dream of becoming an architect. You like architecture labs, earth science, math, chemistry, and hands-on projects, and you’re joining GCSA because you want college support, financial stability, and a community where you can make new friends. Casey’s background as a science teacher, her love of active learning, and her commitment to helping students grow make her a great match for you as you explore architecture, build confidence, and stay focused—even when distractions pop up. She’s excited to support your goals and help you take your next steps toward college and your future career.
