Meet your mentee, Isabella.
Isabella describes herself as friendly, caring, and positive, and she brings a warm, thoughtful energy to every space she enters. She grew up in Manhattan and loves watching anime and action films.
In school, she really enjoys History because of her teacher and because she finds it meaningful to learn how far society has come. She also likes English and reading—The Glass Castle is one of her favorites—and has an interest in science, especially Earth Science. Art and design are a big part of who she is, and she also loves music; she played drums and trumpet in her middle school band. This year, Isabella worked as a PSAL sports manager for volleyball, basketball, and soccer, keeping score and helping during games—a role that taught her responsibility, communication, and time management. She wants to go to college and pursue a career in education so she can give back and support others.
There are many natural connections between you and Isabella. You both love creativity, music, and exploring new interests, and you share a strong appreciation for staying organized while balancing many responsibilities. Isabella values building relationships, being understood, and having someone who listens—qualities you bring to your work with youth.
She’s excited to learn from your experience as she explores art, design, education, and what she wants her future to look like.
