Isyss describes herself as humble, hardworking, and confident, and she brings a grounded but driven energy to everything she does.

She grew up in the Bronx and enjoys horror movies and anything scary. She loves writing for fun and sees it as one of her main outlets for expressing herself. She’s also very hands-on and creative—she enjoys building things, manifesting her goals, and exploring activities that help her learn about herself. Outside of school, she loves basketball and is planning to try out for junior varsity. She used to dance on a step team and loved being part of a group that pushed her to grow. She also enjoys being around water—boogie boarding at Rockaway Beach, long showers, and spending time outdoors in parks with her cousins. Career-wise, she’s exploring different paths but is currently interested in nursing because she wants to help people and make a real impact.

There are many natural connections between you and Isyss. You both love basketball, writing, and expressing yourselves creatively. She thinks a lot about her future and sometimes feels unsure of her next steps, and your experience navigating your own path through college and supporting students will be especially encouraging. She values feeling respected, building relationships through connection, and having someone in her corner.
