Meet your mentee, Kaylee.
Kaylee describes herself as loyal, adventurous, fun, and a bit mysterious, sharing that she doesn’t always open up right away. She grew up in the Bronx and loves classes where she can be creative and hands-on. Architecture is her favorite subject because she wants to design and build structures, and English comes naturally to her—she enjoys writing and continues to push herself to grow in it. She’s always loved art and building things, and she creates both traditional and digital pieces. She’s also involved in volleyball, helps plan crew sessions, decorates the school as part of the art team, and participates on the Social Emotional Learning team.
Outside of school, Kaylee enjoys drawing, exploring new places, listening to music, and finding ways to unwind after the day. She hopes to become an architect and support her family, who inspired her interest in construction and design through their own work. She describes herself as calm, organized, and someone who handles stress well, even while worrying at times. She joined GCSA because she wants guidance from a mentor, help choosing a college, and the chance to become one of the first in her family to attend college and build a strong future.
