Meet your mentee, Keren.

Keren describes herself as quiet, high-energy at times, and sometimes shy, and she brings a thoughtful, creative presence to everything she does. She grew up in Queens and speaks Spanish at home.

In school, her favorite classes are Science—especially climate change—and Calligraphy, which she loves because of the creativity and the teachers who make the class meaningful. She enjoys writing, particularly creative writing, and previously helped design covers for her middle school yearbook, spending months working on layouts and making them look special. Recently, she has also been enjoying sewing and the chance to turn her own ideas into real projects. Outside of class, she likes spending time with friends, going to the mall, and watching shows like 2 Broke Girls and The Vampire Diaries. She is interested in law, especially work that supports children, and is exploring colleges such as John Jay for Criminal Justice.

There are many natural connections between you and Keren. She is artistic, reflective, and cares deeply about helping others—qualities that align with your background in problem-solving, organizing teams, and supporting people through your work and community involvement.

Keren sometimes worries about her future and wants guidance as things start to move quickly, and your experience planning ahead, staying flexible, and balancing responsibilities will be especially grounding for her. She is excited to learn from you as she explores school, college, and her long-term goals.
