Meet your mentee, Leslie.

Leslie describes herself as strong, outgoing, and hardworking, and she brings a motivated, creative energy to everything she does. She grew up in the Bronx and speaks Spanish at home.

In school, she loves English—especially writing—and also enjoys art because she likes designing clothing. One of her favorite projects was creating a mermaid-style dress, which she was proud of and loved making. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her nephew and family, drawing, and playing volleyball. She joined the volleyball team this year, worked hard to build up her fitness, and is considering trying out for soccer next year. Looking ahead, Leslie wants to go to college and is interested in learning more about the medical field, possibly nursing or another health-related path. She can worry at times about her future, but she handles stress well and stays committed once she sets a goal.

There are many natural connections between you and Leslie. She values hard work, planning, and steady progress—qualities you also emphasize in your work helping people reach their goals. Leslie appreciates patient, step-by-step guidance, especially as she navigates college and explores career possibilities, and your experience supporting young people through big decisions will be especially meaningful.

She’s excited to learn from you, build confidence in her next steps, and continue growing both creatively and academically.
