Meet your mentee, Martin.

Martin describes himself as kind, talkative, and someone who makes friends easily. He grew up in Queens and enjoys spending time texting and talking with friends, meeting up at the park, and playing video games. In school, he’s especially drawn to architecture labs, Spanish, earth science, design, math, and chemistry—subjects that let him build, create, and learn through hands-on work. He loves projects where he can design or physically construct something, which connects directly to his long-term goal of becoming an architect.

Martin sees himself as someone who handles stress well, stays calm, and enjoys working with his hands. He knows he can get distracted at times, but he understands how to focus when it matters. GCSA is his first club, and he joined because he wants support preparing for college, hopes to meet new people, and is motivated by the opportunity to receive financial assistance for his education. He is excited to have a mentor who can encourage him, help him strengthen his skills, and guide him as he works toward a future in architecture.
