Meet your mentor, Milly.

Milly is an educator, nonprofit leader, and proud Harlem native with nearly two decades of experience working in K–12 schools, higher education, and youth development. She is passionate about creating opportunities for first-generation students and communities historically excluded from access. Milly holds a PhD in Urban Education and degrees from Cornell University, NYU, Hunter College, and the CUNY Graduate Center. She enjoys traveling, listening to rap and hip-hop, and watching reality TV, and she brings her experience as a mom of two to her mentorship approach.

You and Milly connect in some meaningful ways. You both love being creative, exploring your artistic side, and building new skills. You enjoy hands-on projects, storytelling, and expressing yourself, while Milly is excited to share her experience supporting students, helping you navigate school and your goals, and offering guidance and encouragement as you plan for your future in art and beyond. She’s looking forward to helping you grow both personally and academically while providing a supportive space to share your ideas and dreams.
