Meet your mentee, Samaya.

Samaya describes herself as curious, sincere, and adaptable, and she brings a thoughtful, creative presence to everything she does.

She grew up in Brooklyn and loves watching fantasy and animated TV, along with some reality shows. Reading is one of her biggest hobbies—especially fantasy romance and romantic comedies—and she enjoys writing poems and stories. She also likes science and art and spends a lot of time doing crafts, embroidery, sewing, photography, and even filming small videos. After attending a middle school that was very academic and not very creative, she’s been excited to grow artistically at her current school. She has participated in chess, debate, and newspaper, and she played on the tennis team, which was a meaningful commitment for her. Samaya is still exploring career paths and wants support as she figures out what interests her most.

There are many natural connections between you and Samaya. You both love TV, movies, and creative projects, and she’ll connect easily with your experience bringing ideas to life in TV production. Samaya is artistic, detail-oriented, and imaginative, and she’s looking for guidance as she explores creative fields and future possibilities—exactly the kind of support you’ve provided for young people in your work. She values confidence and steady guidance, and your experience leading projects, navigating school and career decisions, and supporting others will be incredibly grounding for her.

She’s excited to learn from you as she discovers her strengths and plans her next steps.
