Meet your mentee, Scarlet.

Scarlet describes herself as organized, kind, and thoughtful, and she brings a calm, reflective presence to every space she’s in. She grew up in Brooklyn and speaks Spanish at home.

In school, she enjoys Global History and ELA because they help her improve her English and understand the world around her.

Outside the classroom, she likes reading—Flipped is one of her favorites—taking photos, watching Disney movies with her sisters, and going ice skating in the winter. She also goes camping with her family every two years. Scarlet is exploring interests in architecture, psychology, and possibly teaching, and she hopes to apply for a job this summer as she begins thinking about college and future opportunities.

There are many natural connections between you and Scarlet. She is curious about people, emotions, and how the world works, which aligns well with your background in psychology and your research focused on how government systems impact families. She enjoys reading, storytelling, and creative expression through photography, which connects with your own love of books, documentaries, and exploring new places.

Scarlet sometimes overthinks or feels unsure when making decisions, and your steady, supportive guidance will be especially meaningful to her. With her openness to new experiences and your thoughtful mentorship, this pairing is a wonderful match.
