Meet your mentor, Sophia.

Sophia is a Cornell University graduate who studied Global Development and minored in Inequality Studies and Education. As the GCSA Program Coordinator, she supports students and explores her interests in education policy while applying to law school. Outside of work, Sophia is active and family-oriented—she played soccer for 14 years, still enjoys getting touches in, loves lifting at the gym, walking her dogs, watching Yankees games, and spending time with people she cares about (especially over good food).

You and Sophia immediately connect through soccer, being active, and having a chill, open vibe. You’ve played soccer at the park and on a club team, and love hanging out with friends, debating, and being around people who make you laugh. You’re calm, supportive, and talkative once you’re comfortable—qualities Sophia really appreciates. You had a strong freshman year academically, and you’re joining GCSA for the college support, mentorship, trips, and opportunities. Sophia is excited to get to know you, support your goals (even if you’re still figuring them out), and be someone open-minded, trustworthy, and steady—just the kind of mentor you said you’re looking for.
