Meet your mentor, Sun.

Sun works as an Associate Editor at Penguin Random House, helping authors turn ideas into finished books.

She grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and studied English and Art History at Colgate University—two subjects she loved because they let her read, write, and learn from creative people.

After college, Sun spent three years teaching English in Korea, working closely with middle and high school students. In her free time, she loves reading, writing, playing Nintendo games, watching comedies and dramas, and keeping up with pop culture.

There are also many natural connections between you and Sun. You both care deeply about storytelling, whether it’s through reading, writing, or exploring Japanese and Korean shows. You mentioned an interest in studying or living in Japan someday, and Sun understands what it’s like to live abroad and learn a new culture from the inside. You also share a thoughtful, creative personality and a love of learning new words and ideas.

With these shared interests and experiences, Sun is excited to support you as you explore writing, college possibilities, and your dreams for the future.
