Mentor Spotlight: Perry
Perry is the President & CEO of Northeastern Power, a company that provides clean energy to homes and businesses. He grew up in Kalamazoo, MI, Nashville, TN, and Atlanta, GA, and attended Clark Atlanta University for his undergraduate degree in Marketing and NYIT for his Master’s in Energy Management. Perry enjoys working with students and sharing his experience in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He loves exploring new places, playing basketball and other sports, working out, and building or fixing things. He’s patient, optimistic, and creative, and he’s excited to help students navigate opportunities, set goals, and prepare for college and careers.
A legacy mentor, Perry returned to GCSA this winter and is now matched with his new 10th-grade mentee, Calvin, from the Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology, building on his prior mentorship with Tyler at the Urban Assembly Early College High School for Emergency Medicine, who is now a freshman at CUNY John Jay. Reflecting on that experience, Perry shared that he hopes his mentees see him as relatable and understand that growth and possibility are always within reach.
Beyond his work as a mentor, Perry is an integral part of the GCSA community. He is a generous donor, regularly attends GCSA events, and has been a steady, consistent presence—showing up for students, mentors, and staff alike in ways that strengthen our community as a whole.
